1. Who We Are
Dating Coach is operated by Philipp Kochnov, a private individual ("we", "us", "our"). This Privacy Policy applies to our mobile application and website at datingcoach.pro (collectively, the "Service").

2. What Data We Collect
Information you provide:
- Profile data: a display name of your choosing (no real name required), age, gender, dating preferences (set during onboarding)
- Conversation content within the app (messages with characters and the coach)
Information collected automatically:
- Device identifier (randomly generated; not linked to your identity)
- App usage data: features used, session duration, screens visited
- Website analytics via Google Analytics 4: pages visited, time on page, approximate location (country/city level), device type
- Cookies and similar tracking technologies on the website (only after consent)
Information we do NOT collect:
- Your real name (unless you provide it voluntarily as a display name)
- Email address (no account registration required; only if you email us directly for support or data requests)
- Payment details (handled directly by Apple App Store or Google Play)
- Apple IDFA — we do not request the App Tracking Transparency permission and do not engage in cross-app or cross-website tracking
- Precise location (we never request precise GPS or location-services permission)
- Contacts, photos, microphone, or camera content
3. How We Use Your Data
We use collected data to:
- Deliver and improve the Service
- Personalise your experience (e.g., remember your profile settings)
- Understand how users interact with the app and website (analytics)
- Ensure safety and prevent abuse
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
4. Conversations and AI Processing
Conversations you have with characters and the coach within the app are processed by third-party large-language-model providers (currently Anthropic and OpenAI) to generate responses. Conversation text is transmitted to these providers under their enterprise data-processing terms — they do not use your messages to train their public models.
We may use aggregated, anonymised conversation data to improve our own response quality and editorial standards. Individual conversations are not shared with parties beyond the AI providers required to generate replies, are not used to identify you, and are deleted on the schedule in Section 8 below.
5. Cookies and Tracking
Our website uses cookies set by Google Analytics 4 to understand website traffic and user behaviour. These cookies collect anonymised data (pages visited, session duration, approximate location).
You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking at any time via our cookie consent banner or by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

7. International Data Transfers
The Service is hosted primarily in the European Union (AWS S3 in eu-north-1, Render web services). Some processing — notably AI response generation — involves transfer to providers based in the United States (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google).
For users in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland, such transfers are governed by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, and where applicable, by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. We rely on the published commitments of Anthropic, OpenAI, and Google to comply with these mechanisms.
8. Data Retention
- Conversation data: retained on our servers for up to 90 days, then automatically deleted. Anthropic and OpenAI retain transmitted text per their own enterprise terms (typically 30 days for abuse monitoring, then deleted; we do not opt those providers in to model training)
- Profile data: retained while you use the Service; deleted within 30 days of a deletion request (see Section 11)
- Device identifier: rotated on app reinstall; deleted with profile data on deletion request
- Analytics data: retained per Google Analytics default settings (14 months)
9. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Object to processing
- Data portability
- Withdraw consent at any time (where processing is based on consent)

EU/EEA, UK, and Switzerland users. We process data under the following legal bases: legitimate interests (analytics, service improvement, fraud prevention), consent (optional cookies and personalisation), and contractual necessity (delivering the Service). You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local Data Protection Authority — for example, the EDPB list of national DPAs.
California residents. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), you have the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete it, the right to correct inaccurate information, and the right to opt out of any sale or sharing for cross-context behavioural advertising. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. You also have the right to non-discrimination when exercising these rights. To exercise them, contact us via the methods above.
10. Children
The Service is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has used our Service, please contact us immediately and we will delete the associated data.
11. Account and Data Deletion
You can request deletion of all data we hold about you at any time:
- In-app: Settings → Privacy → Delete My Data
- By email: philgrossapps@gmail.com with subject "Data Deletion Request"

12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via an in-app notice and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
